Karen Hedges serves as an administrative appointee to UCLA’s Student Fee Advisory Committee (SFAC), a role to which she was appointed by the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. She values the opportunity to support SFAC’s mission of ensuring that student fees are used to meaningfully enhance the UCLA student experience and considers it a privilege to collaborate with students, faculty, and staff committed to student success.
Karen is the Director of Student Financial Education and Essential Support Services (FELSS), which includes Basic Needs at Strathmore, Debt Management Services, ECRT, Financial Wellness, and Loan Services. A member of UCLA Student Affairs for over 25 years, she is deeply committed to helping students navigate financial and essential support resources. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking and visiting national parks.
